Awana Grand Prix

Last night, Tommy Participated in his first Grand Prix. He and Josh had a wood block cut into the shape of a race car. Then they painted and spray painted the car blue, gold, and silver. This was all Tommy talked about for over a week! Tuesday night the finishing touches were added- numbers, decals, and wheels.
The entire 2 hrs at Awana were taken up with racing. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay, but I heard from another mom that Tommy's car won several heats and ended up in the finals. In the end, he didn't place, but his car was in thanks top eight. He was thrilled! Now he has a cute participation ribbon to show for. I also know he and his brothers will play with the car quite a bit!
