5 years old!

The weeks have been flying by...well, the years, really!  As this past Sunday arrived,  Josh and I were both in awe of how fast 5 years have gone.  The twin pregnancy and early days of their newborn lives were so sleep-deprived and stressful (esp. with a 14 month old underfoot) that we thought those hard days would never end!  Now, 5 years later, we wonder where the time has gone!  God has certainly been good to us in many ways.  Yes, the early days were hard, but overall the twins have been "easy" to raise.  Neither of them have major health problems.  They've always been good eaters and sleepers.  Even to this day, they still nap 2-3 hrs in the afternoon and sleep 10 hrs at night.  They both have sweet spirits and are generally happy most of the time.  They play very well together and are each other's best friend! Although big brother Tommy can be a source of conflict when they are in their little worlds.  Overall, I wouldn't say twins have been much harder than a single child-- at least after the first couple years!

Josh is holding Sam and I'm holding Nate in both pictures. It's amazing to see how different everyone looks in 5 years.  There are lots of memories in between those 2 pictures!  It's also neat this year since it was a Sunday and they were born on a Sunday!

Sam and Nate were just as excited for their actual birthday as they were for the day of their party.  They carried around the packages they received in the mail and constantly asked when they could open presents and have more cake!  They loved wearing the birthday hats and would tell anyone interested that they were 5!  We did a little family celebration that day and they had their kids' choir in the evening.  They loved back to back Sundays of celebrating!

They love being together just as much as the day they were born.  These 2 are inseparable!
The cutest 5 year olds around!

Everyone is ready for gift opening!

Praise the Lord for our wonderful family!
